- (Birth to 12 months of age) - Trust vs. mistrust - (virtue = hope)
- (Ages 1–3 years) - Autonomy vs. shame and doubt - (virtue = will)
- (Ages 3–6 years) - Initiative vs. guilt - (virtue = purpose)
- (Ages 6–12) - Industry vs. inferiority - (virtue = competency)
- (Ages 12–18)- Identity vs. role confusion - (virtue = Faithfulness)
- (20s through early 40s) - Intimacy vs. isolation - (virtue = Love)
- (40s to mid-60s) -Care vs. stagnation - (virtue = care)
- (Mid-60s to the end of life) - Integrity vs. despair - (virtue = wisdom)
